External Transfer Tickets are a huge frustration for the third-party ticket marketplace players, like Gametime. This is a limitation set by ticket brokers, that essentially removes Gametime’s ability to deliver a ticket barcode directly to the user. The biggest loss is the ability to allow users to share tickets with their friends using the Gametime app, which led to a substantial amount of new app downloads.
What do purchasing users want to share, and what do their friends and family want to know?
Our MVP solution reuses the entire “share tickets” experience to allow a user to send an RSVP to their friends after purchasing event tickets. The only change required was in the messaging throughout the experience.
A new flow was created for the receiver of the RSVP, utilizing native sms messaging features already set up for the “share tickets” experience and reusing the Order Confirmation UI to present event details to the RSVP receiver. One new element created for this experience was the Action Banner, which already has other use cases planned elsewhere in the app.
The RSVP feature launched in May of 2022. Two months in, post-purchase sharing had jumped from 6% to 24%.
